April Dawning

The air is crisp,
cool breeze in the early morn,
April has arrived,
Spring has been born.

Reminiscing in my mind,
the familar scent,
Smile plays on my face
recalling the intimate moments we spent!

The sun lies just below the horizon.
The moon hangs low in the western sky.
I have just awakened from a deep sleep.
Laying next to me I hear her sigh.

Arise from our bed,
Clean myself up!
Eat a light breakfast,
As she sleeps like a pup!


I step outside, take a deep breath,
Smell the fresh April air,
The wind has quieted,
My mind doesn't have a care!

With a smile on my face,
ready for the daily routine,
back out of the driveway,
life is a wonderful scene.

I start afresh
With a new life and new love,
I hear her melodic voice
Sounds like an angel from above!

She runs out of the house,
It seems I forgot my lunch.
She gives me a quick kiss.
Says she loves me a bunch!

It starts to softly rain,
her hair is getting wet.
She runs inside,
As I work off the debt!

April has arrived!
with her the beginning of life.
on my drive to work,
I think about...making her my wife!
